Import from another app

3-minute read · Pro

Migrating to AssetVault is supposed to take less time than it took you to be annoyed by your last app's price hike. The wizard handles every common competitor format with auto-detection.

Two paths

Path 1: CSV from the old app (most apps)

  1. Export your data from the old app as CSV. Step-by-step instructions for each competitor:
  2. Save the CSV to your phone (iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Files).
  3. Open AssetVault → Settings → Import from Other App.
  4. Pick the competitor. The wizard tells you what columns it's looking for.
  5. Pick the CSV. AssetVault auto-detects known formats and pre-fills the column mappings.
  6. Review the preview, fix any mappings, tap Import.
📂 Column mapping UI — left column shows source CSV headers (Item Name, Qty, Price), right column shows AssetVault fields with dropdowns and a "Sortly format auto-detected" banner up top
The mapping wizard with a Sortly CSV loaded. AssetVault pre-fills the matches; you only touch dropdowns when something is off.

Path 2: AI bulk photo import (faster for short lists)

If your old app doesn't support CSV export, or you can't be bothered:

  1. Take a screenshot of the item list inside your old app. Multiple screenshots if it scrolls.
  2. AssetVault → Settings → Bulk Photo Import (Collector+ feature).
  3. Pick a screenshot. Wait ~15 seconds. Review the extracted items. Tap Add.

Repeat for each screenshot. Works on Sortly, CLZ, CollX, Cardbase, ManaBox, even handwritten lists.

Success toast over the Vault tab — "Imported 247 items from Sortly · 3 skipped" with View skipped link
Import wraps up with a count of what landed plus a link to anything that was skipped.

What gets imported

Tier limits

If you're on Free and you import 100 items, the import will succeed for the first 5 and pause. Upgrade to Pro and the rest unlock — they're all already in your trash, restoreable in one tap. Or upgrade before you import to skip the round-trip.

Email [email protected] with your CSV (or screenshot of the source app) and we'll figure out the mapping. We add per-competitor profiles based on user requests.
