Delete your data

Last updated: April 26, 2026 · See also: Privacy Policy

AssetVault doesn't operate a user database or sync your inventory to a cloud. Almost all "your data" is on your device, and you control its lifecycle directly. This page exists so reviewers and privacy-minded users have a single, unambiguous reference for the deletion process.

Inventory data (items, photos, serial numbers, documents)

Stored: only on your device, in encrypted SQLite + your device's secure storage.

To delete: uninstall the AssetVault app. Your operating system removes the database, photos, and documents along with the app.

If you'd like to selectively remove individual items first, open AssetVault → tap an item → trash icon. Trash holds items for 30 days then auto-purges. Or wipe everything via Settings → Trash → Empty Trash.

Anonymous crash reports

Stored: on our self-hosted Sentry instance at sentry.chrisrulz.com. Each report contains your device type, OS version, and a stack trace. No inventory data is ever included. Reports do not contain your name, email, IP, or any identifier we could use to find you on demand.

To request deletion: email [email protected] with the subject Delete Crash Data. Include in the body:

We use that information to locate the matching reports and purge them. We respond within 30 days; most requests are completed within 48 hours.

To prevent any future crash reports: we don't currently expose an opt-out toggle in the app — there's no benefit-to-cost reason to send these in the first place if you're not interested. The next version (1.3.x) will add a toggle in Settings → About → "Send anonymous crash reports".

Purchase history

Stored: by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), and by RevenueCat which we use to verify your purchase status. We never see your payment details.

To delete or modify purchase history:

Marketing site (this website)

The website you're reading uses no cookies and no analytics that identify you. There is nothing to delete because nothing has been stored about your visit.

What about my serial numbers?

Serial numbers, like every other inventory field, are stored only on your device. Uninstall the app and they're gone with the app. They are never sent to any of our services or any third party — even AI photo identification deliberately does not read or transmit serial numbers.

Verification

If you need written confirmation of a deletion (for a regulator, a Subject Access Request, etc.), say so in your email and we'll respond with a confirmation message documenting the action and date.
